Barren Grounds Nature Reserve

Barren Grounds Nature Reserve is a protected nature park located in the Southern Highlands region of New South Wales. The reserve was established in 1956 and covers an area of 2,024 hectares. In 2009, it was declared an Important Bird Area by BirdLife International. The reserve is particularly important for endangered species such as the eastern bristlebird and the eastern ground parrot.
The baiting activities undertaken at Barren Grounds Nature Reserve are managed by the Fitzroy Falls office of the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service.
