Jenolan Karst Conservation Area

Jenolan Karst Conservation Reserve is a protected area located in the Central Tablelands region of New South Wales, approximately 175km west of Sydney. The area was one of the earliest protected karst environments in the world, with Jenolan Caves being reserved for leisure and cave preservation in 1866. It covers approximately 3,083 hectares and supports complex ecosystems with highly specialised plants, animals, and microorganisms. The reserve is part of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Greater Blue Mountains Area, inscribed in 2000.
The baiting activities undertaken at Jenolan Karst Conservation Area are managed by the Oberon office of the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service.
